Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 17, 2026

This policy explains what information CaliberTek ("we", "us") collects when you visit calibertek.com, how it is used, and the choices you have. CaliberTek is an educational website with tutorials, learning paths, interview questions, and certification guides.

Information we collect

You do not need an account to read CaliberTek. If you create one, we collect your first name, last name, birth year, your email address, and a password, which we store only as a salted hash and never in readable form. While you are signed in we also store what you do on the site so the features work: lessons you mark complete, the certificates you earn, lessons you like, the named lists you save lessons to, and the comments you post. Comments are shown publicly next to your name. A certificate shows your name, the course, and the date, and anyone who has its link can open it, so share it only with people you want to see it; you can delete a certificate at any time from your account. Like most websites, our hosting provider and server automatically record technical information when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request, and the date and time. We use it to keep the site running, to prevent abuse, and to understand how the site is used.

We ask for your birth year (not your full date of birth) so we can show content that suits your age, for example material written for high school students. It is never shown publicly, and we do not sell it. Our site is not for children under 13, and accounts require you to be at least 13. Your full name appears only on certificates you earn; next to your comments, other visitors see just your first name and the initial of your last name.

If you contact us by email, we receive the email address and message you send, and we use them only to reply to you.

Cookies and local storage

We store your light or dark theme preference in your browser so the site looks the way you chose. This stays on your device. If you sign in, we set one essential cookie that keeps you signed in. It is HTTP-only and is removed when you log out. Third-party services we use, described below, may also set cookies.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland will be asked for consent to advertising cookies through a consent message before personalized ads are shown.

Links to other websites

Our pages link to official documentation and other third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies.

Children's privacy

CaliberTek is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights and choices

You can change your name and password, or delete your account entirely, from your account settings. Deleting your account removes your profile, lists, likes, progress, and comments. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email us at the address below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
